(英) This course is designed to complement study of current events undertaken in previous Practical English courses. Particular focuses of this course are moral and social issues that are of general public interest and particular interest to class members. Class materials include videos and authentic texts taken from current media resources. Other texts may be selected or produced by students. Students are expected to familiarize themselves with topics under consideration through research using the internet, current media, and other resources. Class activities allow students to express opinions orally and in writing. Formal and informal oral presentation exercises are designed to make students comfortable speaking English in a group. Students also gain experience in organizing classes and choosing appropriate topics and materials. (日) この授業の目的については，『実用外国語演習(英語)総論』も参照すること．
