(英) Physiological roles of lysophospholipid mediators such as lysophosphatidic acid, lysophosphatidylcholine and sphingosine-1-phosphate have been examined. Characterizations of lysolipid-producing or degrading enzymes that controls their local levels in the body has been challenged, and clarification of their functional roles have been attempted. In response to increased oxidative stress, phospholipids in biomembranes are subjected peroxidation reaction, generating secondary phospholipids having an oxidatively shorten fatty acyl group that resembles platelet-activating factor (PAF, inflammatory mediator) in structure. Both mechanism of the PAF-like oxidized phospholipids and their diverse biological activities have been examined. Also, their possible involvement in the pathogenesis of vascular diseases including atherosclerosis has been evaluated. (日) リゾホスファチジン酸,リゾホスファチジルコリンやスフィンゴシン-1-リン酸などのリゾリン脂質メデイエーターの生理的役割を機能を解析している.また,これら生理活性リゾリン脂質の生体局所レベルを制御している産生酵素や分解酵素の特定を試み,それらの機能を調べている. 酸化ストレスの増大により生体膜リン脂質の過酸化が進行し,二次的に酸化解裂した短鎖の脂肪酸を持つリン脂質が産生する.これら,炎症の化学伝達物質PAF(血小板活性化因子)と構造が似ている酸化リン脂質の生成機序や多様の生物活性の解析を行い,動脈硬化などの血管病変への関与の可能性を試験している.
