(英) Practices of Trauma Sensitive Schools in Massachusetts, USA

(日) 米国マサチューセッツ州におけるトラウマセンシティブスクールの実際

(英) In this paper, we firstly described an overview of the trend of Trauma Sensitive School (TSS) in North America f or the purpose of the implementation into the area of school education in Japan. We then reported the content on our inspection of training / research institutions and elementary schools implemented TSS in Massachusetts, organaized their information. As a result, we found that TSS has been implemented into elementary schools without emphasizing the term "trauma" and has created safe and supportive school by allowing each school to combine SEL and PBIS under educational culture in which inclusive education is pervasive. Moreover when it comes to the outcome evaluation, we found that it has been evaluated by not using any trauma symptom assessment scales and using a student strenghts assessment scale and a teacher attitudes related to TSS scale.

(日) 本稿では，トラウマセンシティブスクールを日本の学校教育領域に導入するために北米における動向を概観し，マサューセッツ州の研究・研修機関や実践を行っている小学校を視察した内容を報告した．その結果，法的な整備がなされており，トラウマという用語や概念を明確に打ち出さずに導入されていることや，インクルーシブ教育が浸透している文化的背景の下で各学校の裁量で社会性や情動の学習やポジティブ行動支援を組み合わせることにより安全で支援的な学校環境を創設していることが分かった．また，実践のアウトカム評価に関しては，トラウマ症状尺度等は導入されず，生徒のストレングスや教職員の態度の変化を測定することで評価していることが分かった．
