(英) The purpose of this subject is to understand the present conditions in natural disaster reduction and to learn theory and technology about disaster reduction measures.

(日) 地域防災の現状と課題を理解し，地域防災をすすめるための専門的理論や技術を習得する．

(英) First, the present conditions for natural disaster reduction in Japan are presented. Next, effective methods to promote voluntary activities for disaster reduction are presented with practices.

(日) 我が国の防災行政の進め方を説明した後，地域防災の推進のために必要な自主防災活動に有用な手法を実習を交えて説明する．
